Who We Help At Legacy Physical Therapy
Our Services
We take a whole-body, root-cause approach to care. Every treatment plan is tailored specifically to you—your symptoms, your lifestyle, and your goals—using evidence-based techniques including manual therapy, movement retraining, and education. Pelvic floor physical therapy is a specialized field that addresses the muscles and systems responsible for bladder, bowel, and core function, allowing us to treat the underlying cause of your symptoms—not just manage them.
Serving the St. Louis community, we work with women and men at every stage of life—from pregnancy and postpartum to menopause and beyond. If you’ve been told your symptoms are something you just have to live with, we’re here to show you that real solutions exist—and that healing is possible.

Bladder Issues
Struggling with bladder leakage, urinary urgency, frequency, or overactive bladder? At Legacy Physical Therapy, our pelvic floor physical therapy programs target the root causes of bladder dysfunction to help you regain control and confidence. We treat urinary incontinence and bladder issues in women and men using personalized, evidence-based care.

Pregnancy Pain
Pregnancy should not mean living in constant discomfort. Our pelvic physical therapy for pregnancy helps relieve common pregnancy pains such as low back pain, pelvic girdle pain, hip pain, and pubic symphysis dysfunction. We provide safe, effective treatment so you can stay active and comfortable throughout your pregnancy.

Postpartum Recovery
Your body deserves expert care after delivery. Our postpartum pelvic physical therapy helps address issues like diastasis recti, pelvic floor weakness, bladder leakage, and pain after childbirth. Whether you had a vaginal delivery or C-section, we guide you through recovery so you can heal fully and return to the activities you love.

Pelvic Pain
Pelvic pain is common—but it is not normal. We specialize in treating conditions such as pain with sex, tailbone pain, hip pain, and chronic pelvic pain using a whole-body, pelvic floor physical therapy approach. Our goal is to identify the root cause of your pain and help you move and live without discomfort.

Pelvic Organ Prolapse
If you feel heaviness, pressure, or bulging in your pelvis, you may be experiencing pelvic organ prolapse. Our pelvic floor physical therapy helps improve support, reduce symptoms, and often prevent the need for surgery. We create individualized treatment plans to help you feel strong, supported, and confident in your body again.

Male Pelvic Health
Pelvic floor dysfunction affects men too. We provide specialized pelvic physical therapy for men dealing with issues such as urinary leakage after prostate surgery, pelvic pain, and erectile dysfunction. Our discreet, one-on-one care helps men regain control, reduce pain, and return to normal daily activities.

Gender Affirming Care
We are proud to offer inclusive, compassionate pelvic physical therapy as part of gender-affirming care. Whether you are preparing for or recovering from gender-affirming surgery, or addressing pelvic floor concerns, our team provides personalized support in a safe and respectful environment. Your care is tailored to your body, your goals, and your journey.

Pelvic Surgery Prep & Recovery
Preparing for pelvic surgery—or recovering afterward—can significantly impact your long-term outcomes. We offer pelvic physical therapy for hysterectomy, pelvic organ prolapse surgery, and prostatectomy to help you prepare your body, improve healing, and reduce complications like pain or incontinence. Our goal is to help you recover faster and return to normal life with confidence.

SoftWave Therapy
SoftWave Therapy is a non-invasive, regenerative treatment designed to promote healing, reduce pain, and improve tissue function. This advanced shockwave therapy increases blood flow, stimulates cellular repair, and can be used alongside pelvic physical therapy to accelerate recovery. It’s an effective option for patients dealing with chronic pain, inflammation, or stubborn injuries.

What Other People Just Like You Are Saying About Legacy Physical Therapy in St. Louis, MO...

Get to Know Our Owner, Dr. Brooke Kalisiak
Brooke Kalisiak PT, DPT (she/her) is Saint Louis’s leading physical therapist who helps people overcome frustrating, confusing and embarrassing pelvic health issues. She is passionate about making sure people do not end up suffering with pelvic health symptoms for years, giving up activities they love, or undergoing unnecessary surgeries.
She founded Legacy Physical Therapy because she was frustrated with the way women with pelvic health issues were being treated in our healthcare system. Too many people are being told that their pelvic symptoms (ie bladder leakage, pelvic pain, pain with sex, etc) are normal or that there is nothing that they can do except take medication, have surgery, or just live with it. This is far from the truth. Many pelvic health issues are COMMON but NOT NORMAL. It is Brooke’s mission to help people make the best decisions about their pelvic health while creating a positive healing experience.
