SOFTWAVE THERAPY IN ST. LOUIS
What is SoftWave Therapy?
SoftWave uses therapeutic energy waves (shockwaves) to activate the body’s natural healing. It’s safe, doesn’t require surgery, drugs, or needles, and helps reduce pain, speed up recovery, and regenerate tissue. Our St. Louis team utilizes SoftWave therapy in a multidisciplinary approach that addresses joint and muscle pain, pelvic and sexual health issues, as well as wound care. Softwave provides fast pain relief. Shockwave therapy with SoftWave TRT TM is an ideal therapy to speed up recovery and address various indications causing acute or chronic pain.

How does SoftWave therapy work at our St. Louis clinic?
The SoftWave applicator design makes it possible to use energy to treat a large area of both superficial and deep tissue, soliciting a biological response to the target area without causing microtrauma. SoftWave Therapy delivers acoustic shockwaves to targeted areas of the body. These shockwaves stimulate tissue repair, increase blood flow, and reduce inflammation, leading to faster healing and knee, back, and pelvic pain relief. Contact our St. Louis clinic to learn more.

- Boosts Blood Flow for Healing – SoftWave therapy increases circulation to damaged tissue, helping it get the nutrients it needs to repair and heal.
- Reduces Chronic Inflammation – It helps the body turn off long-term inflammation, allowing tissues to heal properly.
- Supports Collagen Production – Collagen is essential for strong muscles, ligaments, and tendons. SoftWave therapy helps your body produce more of it for better tissue repair.
- Breaks Down Calcium Buildup – If you have painful calcium deposits from old injuries, SoftWave therapy can help break them up and restore normal function.
- Decreases Pain Signals – It reduces a key pain-related chemical in the body, helping to relieve chronic and persistent pain.
- Releases Tight Muscles & Knots – SoftWave therapy relaxes muscle tension, improves blood flow, and helps release painful trigger points in the neck, back, shoulders, and limbs.

What to Expect for A SoftWave Therapy Session
The procedure averages 5-10 minutes but may be longer depending on treatment area and diagnosis. A gel is applied to the surface area to be treated. The applicator produces pulses as the clinician moves around the treatment area. During the procedure a light tapping is felt at the skin surface. As the area is inspected with the applicator the patient is continuously giving feedback to the practitioner about what they are feeling. Together the patient and the practitioner find the right area and most optimal level to obtain pain relief. Unlike our Softwave device OTHER shockwave devices i.e. radial devices, EPAT, focused shockwave can be significantly uncomfortable and can cause bruising. We chose Softwave because it’s effective and very comfortable for our patients.
